
This page details the TMO’s Committment to equalites and explains our primary aims.
A clause in the TMO’s constitution confirms the critical importance of equalities to the TMO:
“In conducting its affairs the Organisation shall at all times avoid discrimination against any person on the grounds of racial origin, gender, sexuality, disability, age, religion, marital status or responsibility for dependants”.
The TMO’s purpose, goal and values statements (see section 2) reinforces this commitment.
The TMO is also bound by the law of the land. There are now several different pieces of legislation that require the TMO to ensure that discrimination on the grounds of sex, race and disability are eliminated. In particular, the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000 requires the TMO to:
