Squatters and unauthorised occupants

We have a duty to ensure that the Council's housing is used by genuine tenants and people in housing need. All tenants must keep to the terms of their tenancy agreement and live in the property continuously. If you need to be away from your home for more than three months for any reason, you need to let us know. Please contact your Housing officer on freephone 0800 137 111.

Reporting Squatting

If you think that a TMO property is illegally let or occupied by squatters, let us know and we will investigate.

If you are a squatter, the TMO will take court action to evict you

You should contact the Council at the Town Hall for assistance as you may qualify for rehousing from the Council. Follow this link to visit the Council's Housing Advice Service website: www.rbkc.gov.uk/Housing/General/default.asp.
